Dentures / Partials

Dentures or partials are custom fit for your mouth to replace missing teeth. Dentures are removable and commonly used when more permanent options are not available for tooth replacement. They can replace just a few teeth or an entire row, top or bottom! Dentures restore the mouth for normal eating, talking, and smiling.

There are two types of dentures, a complete denture is an entire row (arch) of teeth, either upper, lower, or both. The other option is a partial denture that fills in only a few missing teeth using the remaining natural teeth to hold the partial in place. Dentures are removed at night for cleaning and kept in water while sleeping. Cleaning consists of brushing with a special denture brush, and effervescent cleaners are available to help with keeping plaque and bacteria from accumulating on the dentures. It is recommended to sleep with the dentures out so that the mouth has a chance to rest and allow the tongue and saliva to go through its natural cleansing process.

Partial dentures replace just a few missing teeth and fill in gaps in your smile. A plastic base with a metal framework is formed with the replacement teeth. The denture is snapped into place using the remaining teeth to hold it.

Complete dentures replace a whole row of teeth. You may need the top, bottom, or possibly both. A complete set will be needed if any remaining teeth are damaged or diseased and need to be pulled.
